A new action movie about the discovery of the world’s largest emerald is being filmed entirely in the state of Florida.
The Florida-exclusive team assembled of a film writer, producer and financier announced plans for “Green Ice” Fri in conjunction with the governor’s Office of Film and Entertainment. The film is reportedly supported the 2001 discovery of the 840-pound, 180,000-carat Bahia Emerald in Brazil, and its adventurous trek to the U.S.. The plot for “Green Ice” describes a consume the jungle, driving back attacks, moving the emerald as freight to the America., having it trapped underwater by the hurricane in New Orleans, and events leading to its being held bye law enforcement in City of the Angels Superior Court. Current plans are for interiors to get on Stage 20 at Universal Orlando Resort in February. The jungle scenes will be simulated in the Everglades. The Florida Film Commission said casting and production will be from FL availability to highlight ability of the state to provide total film support. The plot description of “Green Ice” sounds similar to a 1981 film of as is name starring Ryan O’Neal, Anne Archer and Omar Sharif. Both the 1981 film and this new film also have plots similar to “Romancing the Stone,” which chevies for a remake in 2011.
