A new action movie about the discovery of the world’s largest emerald is being filmed entirely in the state of Florida.
The Florida-exclusive team assembled of a film writer, producer and financier announced plans for “Green Ice” Fri in conjunction with the governor’s Office of Film and Entertainment. The film is reportedly supported the 2001 discovery of the 840-pound, 180,000-carat Bahia Emerald in Brazil, and its adventurous trek to the U.S.. The plot for “Green Ice” describes a consume the jungle, driving back attacks, moving the emerald as freight to the America., having it trapped underwater by the hurricane in New Orleans, and events leading to its being held bye law enforcement in City of the Angels Superior Court. Current plans are for interiors to get on Stage 20 at Universal Orlando Resort in February. The jungle scenes will be simulated in the Everglades. The Florida Film Commission said casting and production will be from FL availability to highlight ability of the state to provide total film support. The plot description of “Green Ice” sounds similar to a 1981 film of as is name starring Ryan O’Neal, Anne Archer and Omar Sharif. Yeti Horror Movie
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Evil Dead and Spider-Man director, Sam Raimi, is attending be producing a supernatural horror called Refuge, which will be written by Tom De Ville supported a pitch by up-and-coming Brit director, Corin Hardy. The project back-number set up at Mandate, where Raimi’s own Ghost House Pictures has a deal.
Refuge evidently, “centers on a backwoods town terrorized by a Yeti, the fabulous creature native to the mountains of the Himalayas.” The film will be acquired by Jason Blum, Nathan Kahane and Steven Schneider. Blum’s Blumhouse outputs will finance a short film of Refuge ahead the full-length adaptation, which both Hardy and Ville will process as well. The idea is that Hardy can, “refine his vision,” just as the script is being processed. I’m also guessing the producers prefer to see if newbie movie director Hardy can actually direct a film to a tolerable degree before they give him a shot at the fully feature.
Hardy is a music TV manager who capitalize on* the highly stylized stop-motion style of life – /Film did a avid commercial director spotlight on him now, if you prefer to get a flavor for his work. Ville has only got a couple of credits to his name, including the TV series’ Urban Gothic and Lexx.
Raimi (like many music director* these days) has a lot currently on his plate, some as director and producer. On the addressing side of things, he’s the highly-anticipated Spider-Man 4 (and 5); the World of Warcraft computer game adaptation; and the LONG awaited Evil Dead 4 (please, Mr. Raimi, advance that!). As a producer, he’s Jack the Giant Killer (which Bryan Singer was recently annunciated to direct); the Paul Bettany flick, Priest at Screen Gems; and his IMDB resume lists a horror/thriller called Dibbuk Box, set for next year.
I approximate Refuge is just a different rung in the workload ladder of Mr. Sam Raimi…
I was beaming to see Raimi get back to his true horror addressing roots this year with the fantastically fun, Drag Me To Hell (probably the most amusing I have had in theaters this year so far), and so I receive him continuing that trend with Refuge, if only at the acquiring level. I don’t know if the Yeti aspirant the first creature I’d pick to center a horror flick around, just at any rate it aspirant a nice change of pace from all the automata and vampires plaguing our screens as late.
What do you think of Raimi producing Refuge? Does it sound like a fine idea for a horror to you?
Refuge doesn’t currently have a release date. Stay tuned.

A new trailer has appeared online for Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, an adaptation of a series of fantasy books written by Rick Riordan. The movie is about a teenage boy addressed Percy, who one day learns that he’s the son of the god Poseidon. He and so sets out about a quest to adjudicate a war between the Greek gods.
The 1st teaser preview for Percy Jackson debuted a few a long time ago and was just that – a teaser. It was apprehensible at the time that they did not demo that much, just it was important that the adjacent trailer give us a lot more. And altho they have not given us as much as I’d anticipated, the fresh trailer still allows more of a glimpse into this fantasy world, admitting showing us a few of the big, diverse cast that admits Pierce Brosnan, Rosario Dawson and Steve Coogan.
Even if that does not look all that deep or important, the film all the same looks like a decent enough fancy adventure, on plenty by a different famous faces fill the Greek blimey roles of Zeus, Poseidon and Hades (to name a few). I but wonder if the debated Harry Potter laws of similarity will hurt or help the film at the box office. People may see the laws of similarity to HP and see Percy Jackson based on that precept, while others could just want to wait for the next Potter flick to hit theaters. Although I think Percy Jackson will do decent at the box office, I can’t aid but believe that Potter will affect it negatively at any rate somewhat. What do you concoct the second Percy Jackson trailer? Do you think it will build a lot at the box office or fail as people will see them as inferior equated to the Harry Potter franchise?
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief aces Logan Lerman (from Gamer), Pierce Brosnan (as Chiron), Sean Bean (Zeus), Rosario Dawson (Persephone), Uma Thurman (Medusa), Kevin McKidd (Poseidon), Ray Winstone (Ares), Steve Coogan (Hades) and Melina Kanakaredes (Athena). It’s scheduled to hit theaters on February twelfth, 2010.

Review film: RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

Download RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

Sure, Nazis have gotten “owned” by gunfire, carefully-plotted artillery rounds, blown up bridges and even baseball bats (see: Inglourious Basterds). Show me another film where the Nazis get their faces melted like crayola crayons in a microwave! Raiders of the Lost Ark isn’t just my favorite movie, it’s Hollywood’s best offering for seeing these nefarious bad guys get theirs. It also STILL retains the highest potential for a wide audience with subject matter (adventure, humor) that other films on this list just can’t claim. This initial installment of Indiana Jones and his adventures simply has more staying-power than most other films (even the classic The Longest Day, which would be Sominex for most younger audiences), and won’t soon be trumped. I remember as an 11-year-old knowing that the Nazis were “bad” and that Indy and co. were good. The reason? Watch Indy OWN THEM ALL. When Indy doesn’t own them “the power of God, or something” does. It’s a TRUE example of good triumphing over evil and that’s why it serves as the pinnacle of Nazi ownage!

Review film: THE DIRTY DOZEN
Often it isn’t enough for the U.S. to send out our best bunch of baddie-dispatching commandos. The Dirty Dozen allows you a sampling of taking the WORST of the best – armed forces prisoners – and honing them into a different set of fine Nazi-killing machines. The training of the fresh, bad-ass recruits is even as exciting as the action scenes featured therein film, and ends with one of the most piquant scenes that is sure to satisfy those anticipating a high Nazi body count. The cast of (what were then) children eventually became about of Hollywood’s biggest stars on the 60’s and 70’s, making this another fantabulous addition to anyone’s videodisc library. It’s one of the greats without doubt.

Review film: BAND OF BROTHERS
Altho not a “feature film,” you would be hard-pressed not to call this HBO-offered series some of the best Nazi-fighting entertainment ever offered. From the culture of new recruits, to in-country bullets ablaze, to quiet darks where even the gayest soldier would have messed his foxhole, to thunderous artillery shellings that make even the lookers teeth shake, this quality program offers some of the most piquant scenes of Word War II ever. You as well have an introspective view a variety of operations that helped us not alone “Own the Nazis,” but win the war. The storytelling in that series is a sample of how come we must continue to tell the floors of the heroes and deeds of conveyance of WWII, so that future generations can empathise just what plans and forfeits were required to ascertain that the Nazi’s GOT owned and that exemption continued to ring. Add together to the fact that Band of Brothers is over ten episodes and you have got yourself a gargantuan disc of “Ownage de Nazi.”
